VITAMIN D
Vitamin D refers to a group of fat-soluble serotonins responsible for increasing the intestinal absorption of calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, and zinc. This vitamin is produced by the skin when exposed to ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation or obtained through dietary sources, including supplements. The average daily intake of vitamin D in the population, as well as current reference values, are often inadequate to maintain optimal levels. Virtually all cells in our bodies have receptors for vitamin D, meaning they require "sufficient" levels to function properly. Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to several serious diseases, such as osteoporosis, multiple sclerosis, cardiovascular disease, pregnancy complications, diabetes, stroke, autoimmune diseases, and infectious diseases.

RECOMMENDED USERS The vitamin D test is intended for people at risk of vitamin D deficiency, such as those who: Frequently experience tiredness and fatigue; Have inadequate sun exposure; Consume little vitamin D through their diet; Suffer from impaired intestinal absorption.

WHY - BENEFITS Vitamin D testing helps determine whether vitamin D levels are sufficient, insufficient, or deficient, allowing the individual to take precautions in time.

TEST PRINCIPLE The vitamin D test is an immunochromatographic assay that, thanks to specific antibodies, detects levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D in blood samples and highlights its concentration through the intensity of the test line (T) obtained.

CLASSIFICATION OF RESULTSDeficiency:
0-10 ng/ml (0-25 nmol/l)
Insufficiency: 10-30 ng/ml (25-75 nmol/l)
Sufficiency: 30-100 ng/ml (75-250 nmol/l)
Excess: >100 ng/ml (>250 nmol/l)

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Detection limit (cut-off): 30 ± 4 ng/mlOverall accuracy: >90%Measuring range: 10-100 ng/mlPerformance data were obtained by comparing the test with another CE-marked rapid vitamin D test.
