Brufen Sugar-Free Suspension 20mg/ml 200ml

Brufen Sugar Free 20 mg/ml oral suspension for children over 3 months of age or weighing more than 5 kg.

It is indicated for short-term symptomatic treatment: mild to moderate pain, such as toothache, headache and fever.

The dosage varies depending on the patient, their age and clinical situation.

Each 5 ml of solution contains 100 mg of ibuprofen.

Brufen Sugar-Free does not contain sugar, so it can be taken by diabetics.

Adults:

Although other pharmaceutical forms of ibuprofen 200 mg, 400 mg or 600 mg are generally used for adults, when there is difficulty swallowing, Brufen Sugar Free can be administered in a dose of 15 ml (300 mg) – 4 times a day.

Elderly:

It is not necessary to adjust the dose, except in cases of renal or hepatic insufficiency, in which the dose must be individualized.

Renal failure:

Caution should be exercised when administering an NSAID to patients with renal impairment.

In patients with mild to moderate renal dysfunction the initial dose should be reduced.

Ibuprofen should not be given to patients with severe renal or hepatic impairment.

Undesirable effects can be minimized by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary to control symptoms.

Brufen Sugar Free may cause a transient burning sensation in the mouth or throat;

Shake the bottle well before use.

Route of administration: Oral.

Average treatment duration:

Variable depending on the patient and their clinical situation.

Use in children:

The recommended daily dose is 20 mg-30 mg/kg of body weight, every 6 to 8 hours.

- From 3 to 6 months (weight> 5 kg): 5 mg/kg - 3 times a day;

- From 6 months to 1 year: 2.5 ml (50 mg) – 3 times a day;

- Children 1 to 2 years old: 2.5 ml (50 mg) – 3 to 4 times a day;

- Children aged 3 to 7 years: 5 ml (100 mg) – 3 to 4 times a day;

- Children 8 to 12 years old: 10 ml (200 mg) 3 to 4 times a day. In the treatment of juvenile idiopathic arthritis, higher doses may be necessary, not exceeding 40 mg/kg/day of ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is not recommended for children under 5 kg.

Ingredients:

The active ingredient is ibuprofen. Each 5 ml of Brufen Sugar-Free contains 100 mg of ibuprofen.

The other ingredients are propylene glycol, glycerol, xanthan gum, anhydrous citric acid, sodium benzoate, polysorbate 80, sodium saccharin, sorbitol (sol. 70%), sodium citrate, orange flavor and purified water.
