"Emergency contraceptive pill" or "morning-after pill," which contains a very common progestin hormone—levonorgestrel. It's a progestin responsible for delaying or preventing ovulation (the release of an egg from the ovary), thus preventing fertilization and, consequently, pregnancy.
Levonorgestrel in emergency contraception does not inhibit implantation of a fertilized egg and thus does not terminate pregnancy (according to the parameters of the definition of early pregnancy).
Therefore, it has no abortive effect and, consequently, does not harm fetal development or pregnancy.
Recommended use: You should take Postinor® immediately or within 72 hours of unprotected or improperly protected sex, when your method failed. The sooner you take it, the more effective it will be. Ideally, it should be taken within the first 24 hours, immediately after unprotected sex, when it is most effective.
The effectiveness of emergency oral contraceptives containing levonorgestrel depends on the time elapsed between unprotected sexual intercourse and taking the tablet (Postinor®).
If you're worried about an unplanned pregnancy, it's better to act now than to wait until later.
Ingredients: Each tablet contains 1500 micrograms of levonorgestrel. The other ingredients are potato starch, cornstarch, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate (E572), talc (E533b), and lactose monohydrate.
