The Vitamin D Test is a self-test with results in 10 minutes and a chromatographic immunoassay for the semi-quantitative detection of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) in blood. This test provides a preliminary diagnostic result and can be used to screen for vitamin D deficiency.
Brand: All-Test
Description:
Vitamin D refers to a group of fat-soluble secosteroids responsible for increasing the intestinal absorption of calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphate, and zinc. In humans, the most important compounds in this group are vitamin D3 and vitamin D2. Vitamin D3 is naturally produced in human skin through exposure to ultraviolet light, and vitamin D2 is obtained primarily from food. Vitamin D is transported to the liver, where it is metabolized to 25-hydroxyvitamin D. In medicine, a 25-hydroxyvitamin D blood test is used to determine the body's vitamin D concentration. The blood concentration of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (including D2 and D3) is considered the best indicator of vitamin D status. Vitamin D deficiency is currently recognized as a global epidemic. Virtually every cell in our body has vitamin D receptors, meaning that everyone requires a "sufficient" level of vitamin D for proper function. The health risks associated with vitamin D deficiency are far more serious than previously thought. Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to several serious diseases, including osteoporosis, osteomalacia, multiple sclerosis, cardiovascular disease, pregnancy complications, diabetes, depression, stroke, autoimmune diseases, influenza, various cancers, infectious diseases, Alzheimer's disease, obesity, and high mortality, among others.
When to perform:
The Vitamin D test is suitable for anyone who wants to monitor their vitamin D levels and determine whether they should take vitamin D supplements.
The Rapid Vitamin D Test can be used at any time of day. The clinical application of 25-hydroxyvitamin D is primarily for the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of rickets (in children), osteomalacia, postmenopausal osteoporosis, and renal osteopathy. Vitamin D deficiency is also associated with many other diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, and depression.
Test principle:
The Vitamin D Rapid Test is a chromatographic immunoassay for the semiquantitative detection of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) in whole blood. This assay provides a preliminary diagnostic test result and can be used to screen for vitamin D deficiency.
How to use:
1. Prick your finger with the sterile lancet contained in the box;
2. Squeeze your finger until you get a drop of blood and collect it with the plastic pipette;
3. Place the drop of blood on the indicated point on the device;
4. Add the reagent, wait 10 minutes and check the result.
