The Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOT) is a self-test with results in 10 minutes and an overall accuracy of 99.1%. There are no specific dietary restrictions required for the test. The main purpose of this test is to check for gastrointestinal lesions.

Brand: All-Test.

Description:
The presence of blood in the stool is often undetectable by sight. Occult blood can be the result of gastrointestinal disorders such as ulcers, polyps, colitis, diverticulitis, rhagades, hemorrhoids, or cancer. Signs of these lesions are often silent in their early stages. Testing for occult blood in the stool is an important screening test that allows for early identification of pathologies in the gastrointestinal tract.

When to perform:
The fecal occult blood test can be performed at any time of day during a bowel movement, without the need to follow a specific diet. A positive result means there is blood in the stool, and it is recommended to consult a healthcare professional.

Test principle:
It is a qualitative lateral flow immunoassay test for the qualitative detection of human occult blood in feces. The membrane is pre-coated with anti-hemoglobin antibodies.

How to perform the test:
1. Stick the two stickers on the stool collection sheet to the surface of the toilet seat;
2. Dip the dipstick into the feces at three different locations in the sample;
3. Place the rod into the bottle until it is immersed in the liquid, close the lid and shake vigorously.
4. Hold the tube upright and open the tip of the collection tube to release the dropper. Dispense 2 drops of the diluted stool sample onto the indicated area of the test strip.
5. Wait 5 minutes and read the result.
