The Iron Test is a self-test with results in 5 minutes to detect ferritin levels. This test requires only a blood sample and is used to aid in the diagnosis of anemia.

Brand: All-test

Description:
Iron depletion anemia is widely detected in children and women of all ages, but especially in women with regular menstruation (at least 20% suffer from iron deficiency). The main signs are paleness, fatigue, headaches, a faster heartbeat, or shortness of breath during exercise. These symptoms may appear gradually and go unnoticed.
Iron deficiency occurs when the blood doesn't contain enough red blood cells and, therefore, low levels of hemoglobin, which is the main protein involved in transporting oxygen throughout the body. One of the main components of hemoglobin is iron.
Iron depletion can occur during pregnancy, during growth, in cases of insufficient iron intake, when there is inadequate absorption or blood loss (menstruation, abnormal bleeding, ulcers, etc.) that can have health effects.
Low ferritin levels can also indicate hypothyroidism, vitamin C deficiency, or celiac disease. Low ferritin levels are observed in some patients with restless legs syndrome, not necessarily related to anemia, but perhaps due to low iron stores short of anemia.

When to perform:
The rapid ferritin test can be performed in cases of symptoms such as paleness, fatigue, headaches, a faster heartbeat, or shortness of breath during exercise, especially in pregnant women or in cases of excessive bleeding during menstruation. The test can be performed at any time of day, but should not be performed in cases of illness, acute inflammation, or spleen or liver damage. Abnormal results may occur even in the absence of iron deficiency.

Test principle:
The iron test is a qualitative lateral flow immunoassay for the qualitative detection of the protein Ferritin.

How to use:
1. Prick your finger with the sterile lancet contained in the box;
2. Squeeze your finger until you get a drop of blood and collect it with the plastic pipette;
3. Place the drop of blood on the indicated point on the device;
