A medication used to relieve pain and reduce inflammation and swelling in numerous painful conditions affecting the joints, ligaments, and muscles. In adults, it may be indicated for the relief of pain associated with osteoarthritis.

Description:
Voltaren Emulgel is an over-the-counter medication containing a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, or NSAID, in a gel-emulsion form. The active ingredient penetrates the skin to relieve pain and reduce inflammation . It can be used to relieve body aches, inflammation, and swelling: Soft tissue injuries: trauma to tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints due to sprains, strains, bruises, and back pain (e.g., sports injuries); Localized forms of degenerative rheumatism: osteoarthritis of the joints; For pain relief from osteoarthritis of the knee or fingers.

Composition:
One gram of Voltaren Emulgel contains 11.6 mg of diclofenac diethylammonium, corresponding to 10 mg of diclofenac sodium.

Excipient(s) with known effect: Propylene glycol (E1520) – One gram of gel contains 50 mg, Benzyl benzoate.

Conservation:
keep the temperature below 30º C.

Precautions:
The possibility of systemic adverse effects from the application of Voltaren Emulgel cannot be ruled out if used on large areas of skin and for a prolonged period (see information on systemic forms of diclofenac). Voltaren Emulgel should only be applied to intact, healthy skin and not to skin with wounds or lesions. Contact with eyes or mucous membranes should be avoided and it should not be ingested. Discontinue treatment if a rash develops after application. Voltaren Emulgel can be used with non-occlusive dressings, but should not be used with airtight occlusive dressings. This medicine contains propylene glycol (E1520) and benzyl benzoate. It may cause mild localized skin irritation in some people.

Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to diclofenac diethylammonium or any of the excipients mentioned in the composition;
- In patients in whom asthma, urticaria or rhinitis attacks are precipitated by acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs);
- During the last trimester of pregnancy;
- Use in children and adolescents under 14 years of age.

How to use:
Apply to the areas to be treated, as recommended by your doctor or pharmacist. Massage gently to facilitate absorption of the gel. After application, wash your hands thoroughly.
